Your data is encrypted with AES-256 directly on your device, before any transmission. The encryption key is derived from your password using PBKDF2 and never leaves your device. MyHeredia receives and stores only encrypted blobs — it is mathematically impossible for us to read your content.

Designate your Heirs

Choose with surgical precision who receives each specific asset. The permission model is granular: you can assign different beneficiaries to different content, with distinct roles and access levels. Each heir receives only and exclusively what you have explicitly decided.

Activate the Safety Timer

The heart of the system. A dead man's switch that silently monitors your activity on the platform. As long as you are active and responding to check-ins, the vault remains sealed. If you stop responding beyond the configured grace period, the release protocol activates automatically.

How does the Safety Timer work?

The Safety Timer is not a simple countdown. It is a multi-layer system that distinguishes between temporary inactivity and a critical event, with progressive notifications to prevent any false positives.

Total Transparency

Notarisation on Polygon Blockchain

Every asset added to the vault generates a unique digital fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) that is recorded on the Polygon Mainnet blockchain. This guarantees absolute data integrity: anyone can independently verify — without trusting MyHeredia — that documents have not been altered after your passing.

⚖️ Legal Standing

Can MyHeredia read my data?
No, it is technically impossible. Your data is encrypted with AES-256 directly on your device using a key derived from your password. MyHeredia receives and stores only opaque encrypted blobs — without your password, they are meaningless. We never have access to your content, nor could we.
What happens if I forget my password?
Your password is the only key to decrypt the vault. We do not know it and cannot recover it — that is the price of Zero-Knowledge architecture. We strongly recommend noting your password in a secure physical location (safe, bank) and including it as an instruction for a trusted heir. Without the password, the vault remains inaccessible, even to heirs.
What happens if MyHeredia shuts down?
We understand this is a legitimate concern for a long-term service. That is why every vault includes the ability to export an encrypted local backup at any time. Your encrypted data belongs to you. Blockchain notarisation also ensures that integrity proofs exist independently of us. We are also working on an open-source contingency protocol to guarantee operational continuity.
Do my heirs know they have been designated?
You choose. You have two options: notify heirs immediately of their designation (they receive a confirmation email), or keep them unaware until the moment of release. In the latter case, the first notification they receive will be the inheritance access one. They are never informed of the vault's contents until the timer triggers.
Can the Safety Timer trigger by mistake?
It is designed to resist false positives. The system provides multiple notifications (first alert, second alert, final alert) and a configurable grace period after the timer expires. In total you have several weeks to interrupt the process before release occurs. You can also manually pause the timer during periods of planned inactivity such as travel or hospital stays.
Does MyHeredia replace a traditional will?
No, and it does not aim to. MyHeredia manages digital assets — credentials, digital assets, digital documents — which a traditional will often fails to cover adequately. We recommend using MyHeredia alongside a legal will drafted with a notary, which remains the primary instrument for real estate, physical bank accounts, and traditional asset dispositions.
